Music and Arts Program

Through the Music Program at Centro María Mazzarello, ALESPI, students can participate in artistic presentations during educational, religious, and cultural activities. As an arts program, it helps develop students’ motor and artistic skills while promoting positive social interactions and boosting self-esteem.

The main goal of our ALESPI MUSIC program is to influence the artistic development of participants through projects that stimulate their creative process. The program aligns with the standards and expectations for Fine Arts established by the Puerto Rico Department of Education.

The ALESPI BAND is the primary musical ensemble of our Music Program. Here, students can develop their talents as singers and musicians, integrating other artistic disciplines such as dance and theater, both in person and virtually. The program fosters talent in various instruments, including drums, conga, bongo, cajon, güiro, guitar, bass, cuatro, piano, violin, and ukulele. With adequate resources, we could expand instruction to include wind instruments like the saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and clarinet.

The ALESPI BAND also includes a choir that participates in Eucharistic celebrations held both within and outside the educational setting, as well as in social, religious, educational, and cultural activities that take place both within and outside the center.
